Our family has a HUGE announcement....

We have a new member of the Sloman family ..... nope, I'm not pregnant again . Frankly I don't think ANY of us could handle that kind of scandal - hah!

Today when A-man, Lou Lou and Boo Bear got home from school they found a package on the front porch. Apparently we had a delivery from EPS (you know, Elf Parcel Service) direct from Santa at the North Pole.

Of course they couldn't WAIT to see what was in there.....

..... after much deliberation - we settled on a name .....

Let us introduce to you .... TIPPY JINGLES (Sloman)

I sure hope he doesn't get into too many shenanigans around here .... but time will tell :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

Mind your peas and carrots....

Tonight was my night that I am FORCED to cook - Chads at school for the night and so it's up to me to make sure the kiddlets are fed.......
My choice for tonight was something that wouldn't keep me in the kitchen for a long period due to my not feeling well (allergies I think) and my inability to leave the kids in one room without someone nearing decaptiation or the baby squeeling... not with glee either......
So I opted for a Voila skillet mean - Garlic Chicken - just throw in a pan with some water and forget it (at least for 12 minutes anyway).... this particular meal includes the spirelli pasta, chicken breast chunks, corn, carrots and broccoli with a garlic sauce
I thought it was DELISH the kids however thought differently..... here's a little snippet...
6yo - "Mom what do carrots do"
Me - "they make you see better"
6yo - "well I can already see perfectly"
Me - nods head "well you still have to eat them"
6yo - "mom, what does corn do"
Me - "I forgot"
6yo - "Mom, what does brocolli do"
Me - "I forgot"
6yo - "then why do I have to eat it?"
Me - shakes head in despair, a look of obvious defeat on my face as I sigh and provide the proverbial answer "Because I said so, it's what's for dinner"
My kids are ALMOST too smart for their own good.................

Slacker...

I'm such a slacker, I know it, beleive me I know it...
But who would have thought that once the kids went BACK to school that I'd get BUSIER! Sheesh!

Lots to talk about I guess -

A & E are doing great at school so far and the riding of the bus thing is going soooooo smoothly! I love it, and E loves it, A wishes I'd take them again b/c its too loud on the bus he said.

A - started back to Cub Scouts - he's now a "wolf" and is really enjoying it. I'm glad too b/c he needs "something" to do besides being harassed by his sisters and playing video games

E - joined the Daisy Scouts with Girl Scouts - Does anyone want some cookies LOL! I know I'll be buying em buy the case from my cute little daisy girl LOL hahahahah! She really loves it and has been looking forward to being a "scout" ever since A joined Cub Scouts last year.

Chad is also doing good back at school - he's going three days a week now for Dif. Equations, but that is the only class he is taking this term b/c the only other class he has to take before the Eng. Program specific classes is Physics 2 and it was ONLY offered at the EXACT same time as the Dif Equations class, so hence, one class this term. Kinda stinks, but kinda nice considering we've been so busy with the new baby coming and the end of summer, start of school with the kids etc. Good that he didn't pile too much on I guess.

The baby is doing well. We are looking at potential for a C-section as soon as early Dec. it seems though due to some complications with the placentas placement. I'm not thrilled about this at ALL, but I can't change it, so we'll just have to wait it out and see. We did have a follow up US this week and found out he's 2lbs 2oz currently - and you can see better his face and all - like you can see "fat" cheeks instead of him just looking like Skeletor or something LOL! We even got a quick peek at 3D images, though he wouldn't show his face... so that's still a mystery of sorts, but got some great pictures of his hands and feet in 3D so that was pretty cool. Chad nor myself have ever experienced the 3D thing before with the other kids.

I'll leave you with that and then share a few photos....

My Baby went bye bye...

Well last week it hit me...and it hit me hard...but it hit her harder (more on that later).... that my baby has gone bye bye.

Gone are the days when B can snuggle on my bosom (her daddy has reclaimed that spot), gone are the days of have "I have a newborn" as an excuse to stay in my pajamas all day (or for why the house is a mess, the kids are wearing the same clothes they ahd on yesterday, dirty dishes still in the sink, daily trips to McDonalds for dinner versus cooking because we are all out of clean dishes ...well you get the picture there I'm sure, at least you will if you've ever had a newborn around), gone are the days where I can beg off going here or there by using the "baby" as an excuse, gone are the days of napping in the middle of the day because "baby kept me up all night", gone are the days....

well frankly put, gone are the days of having a "baby" around the house... (at least for a bit.... gimme 10 months..I'm working on a remedy to this).....

anyhow.......last week, Tuesday to be exact..... my "baby" officially left babyhood and entered toddlerhood. Heres how it all went down.....
I put her down for morning nap as usual in her crib. I proceded to go about doing my chores while she napped, again as usual. When I heard her fussing to get up I finished up my task (taking out the trash, putting in a new bag and washing my hands) and went blowing into her room to get her out of her bed (by this time she was a bit worked up) and it hit me...and her... (this is the part I was talking about) because I hit her square in the head with her door.

Apparently my "big" girl no longer needs her crib and decided that she was ready to get out and therefore, did. Climbed right on out. Fortunately didn't get hurt at all, but scared the hello dolly outta me.

I promptly started disassembling the crib and putting up her big girl toddler bed we had bought from a friend a bit back in preparation for this momentous day. She was ecstatic about her new bed and couldn't stay off it once I got it all put together for her. I also moved her toy bin thing from the living room to her very own room, rearranged her changing table (removing the baskets of diapers etc from the bottom shelves and relocating those to the top of her dresser).

B now has a big girl room - guess I should finish the painting in there (just got to put a fresh coat of white on the trim and shelves).

You know it does make me a touch sad to see my "baby" growing up (she'll be two in just a few months....), however it is also a glorious thing to be back to up and running wherever whenever with her - especially with the older kiddoes at school all day.

Now back to my regularly scheduled laundry and dishes schedule....

So yea...can it get worse?

Just when you are coasting through life, enjoying things, neglecting your blog, rolling with the punches, from left field comes that sucker punch that knocks you on your ass.

I have had so many piddly things to write about, but never take the time to sit down and actually DO it.... however, I just GOTTA spill some shit.....

1) the biggest event since my last post, was on Monday I get a phone call from my sister where she says "I've got something to tell you, but you CANNOT freak out on me....".... so what do I think.. I think HOLY SHIT SHE'S KNOCKED UP pregnant again..... but what she tells me was even more mind jarring.... she comes back with "I'm at the hospital with dad, they think he's had a heart attack"....

MOUTH HITS FLOOR......like ROCK BOTTOM...first time EVER in my life I have been speechless.

So I keep my word and I don't freak out on her, but promptly get off the phone, call my mom out of a meeting to tell her (without freaking out mind you) and then call Chad. Now Chad, being my lovely husband, well, he has to let me freak out on him..and I do. I start bawling and I'm unsure what to do. Panic sets in that this is it for my dad. I mean yea I've always thought about the fact that yea, I'll have to deal with it eventually (it being my parents passing away), but did I ever think it'd be when I was so young or my parents being so young (dad turned 50 this year)....nope... sure didn't.

Chad calls me back and informs me he is on his way home from work. He gets here and I pack up myself (throw in some water, diet coke for mom, magazines for us all etc) and head to the hospital. I meet my sister outside and she fills me in. Apparently dad had been having chest pain and the night before had blood pressure reading of 149/98 and he went to urgent care. They did an EKG and found evidence of heart damage (heart attack) and sent him to the ER.

Long story short...after many many many hours, several EKG's, a few CT scans, a stress test, bloodwork etc.... the FUCKTARDS wonderful doctors in the ER come back to say "Well we don't know whats going on, why your bloodpressure is still so high, or why you are still in severe pain, but you have had a heart attack and well we are just gonna send you home". WTF, are you kidding me?! Seriously, still in pain (chest, arm, face, head) but yea, just take some tylenol and go on home....

This makes me ill, I get irate inside my brain and resist teh urge to punch the fucktard in the face and walk out the door.

So dad is home, still feeling "not right", trying to take it easy and waiting to see a private physician early next week. Now I know though without a doubt, this country needs a SERIOUS healthcare makeover. My dad is uninsured. He cannot afford a private policy and he's in business for himself. The hospital did the BARE minimum (which I know is all that is required) for care I feel and that their diagnosis of "we don't know, go home" was so they didnt' have to risk the "bill" with an uninsured patient. I'm super disappointed. Things only got worse when he called his last primary care physician, but I'll spare you the details, just suffice it to say that we seriously need to see a healthcare makeover.

so on to # duece....

Brenna is sick again...she kept me up all night last night crying, scratch that, SCREAMING LIKE A BANSHEE.........so my immediate thought was....ear infection. Woke up this AM, she looks like she's been in a bar fight (her face was puffy, eye was black and swollen and just overall ick). I called the pedi, bring her in, pay my nice copayment (cough - healthcaremakeoverneededasapplease - cough) and have her seen. Great news... no ear infection..but wait, theres more...she has conjunctivitis (AGAIN!!).... CHRIST ALL MIGHTY.......

all of this coming after Elisa missed school last week due to an unexplained fever (high - 103 and such)

and then....the biggest of all...... my inlaws let us know today that they will be coming down on Friday..yea, so um, can we say FLIGHT OF BUMBLEBEE PANIC MODE HOUSECLEANING...eeeks! I mean, my house isn't a disaster zone by any means, but um, well, it's just not up to inlaws visiting level that's all.

So, I think today, I am most thankful for my Leinenkugals Berry Weiss 6 pack...thank you beer cow for producing such a fabulously fruity and tasty beverage to wash my cares away......

so I've decided..I need a vacation... and I'm going here....
