What the heck????

*** this all happened on Sunday......***

sooooo today started off shitty...I should have known it would not have gotten better right.....

9am, the phone rings, Chad hops up and answers without looking at caller id (HELLOOOO there is a reason we pay for that service for christs sake) and it's work, he has to come in NOW.

I have a class @ 2pm, great, I have a Stampin UP! class to teach, and 3 kids running amuck and my sister and my parents are all out of town to Tampa...........crap..oh well, we'll make do right...

9:15, Elisa come strolling out of her room, she didn't put on a pull up last night, so she peed all over herself and bed (nope, didn't get upset, not worried about that at all..just learnign to roll with it) so put her in the bath (she wanted to use my bathroom instead of hers), then go about the rest of my stuff (doing dishes, laundry, stripping her bed down etc).

She comes out, we get dressed, I made a deal with the kids about not interuppting mommies class and then we did lunch. I had my class (it actually went really well) then Chad gets home from work (he convinced his boss he HAD to go home, evne though I was almost done with my class thoug) and I finish up with class. He starts to take a shower, I go in and am chatting with him and realize the tub isn't draining.

Well we get to working on that issue when he gets out. Toilet flush, hmmmm it starts backing up to the tub. CRAP! (not literally thank god LOL). So we start plunging , not working, toilet not flushing, shessus. So okay, we decide to open the drain line that is outside on the carport area, that's not seeming to work. I got looking at my parents house for his plumbing snake, can't find it but find a metal tape, we try that, not working, so finally we break down and go to Home Depot and rent a plumbing snake ($22) and then come home, snake the lines, try snaking toilet, but can't seem to get it through the toilet (thinking it is because it is the hairpin turn)....well we keep messing, we take the hose and run it through the lines, nope, not backing up, that says "OMG IT IS THE TOILET!!!" so head back to the depot, $100 later, we have a new toilet (and seat and wax ring and bolts etc), we install it, and.............

HOORAY IT FLUSHES AND DRAINS JUST FINE!!!

Thanks god, cuz if not, I was gonna pull a karate kick and bust that shit!

Fly Lady Beware...

Whew, I don't know what happened.... well yea, yea I do... It all started out with me just spending some time in my craft room to take some photos of some projects for my Stampin Blog when all of a sudden it became a situation where I thought "hey, next I'll take some photos of my craft room". At that point I realized "hmmm I should clean up and organize a little before I do that" so I started that projet. HA, bad idea! Now approximately oh.....3.5 hours later I have the CLOSET cleaned out (what, I wasn't planning to take photos of the CLOSET for petes sake LOL) and one book shelf and cabinet reorganized.

I did however do a big "fling" as I think is a term in the "Fly Lady" land of thinking/cleaning. I have now got a nice pile for Freecycle and a nice pile of Scrap Mags that I think I'm going to try to sell off on Ebay. I'm pretty excited with myself. However of course I'm not "finished" yet, but I will do that tomorrow.

So now.....after I finish watching Traveler I will need to continue the cleaning momentum and do the dishes and fold the towels I washed yesterday LOL!

Dining Room Makeover...

Well I had a little mission given to me on Saturday..................redo the dining room. Something Chad and I knew we wanted to do since the beginning of time...or okay so since we bought the house. Anyhow, so Saturday became the day.........we went to Lowes, bought the goods, and came home. I figured, "hey I need like an hour and a half and I can have this painting done"..yea well...two days LATER I am FINALLY finished. I started out about 4:30pm on Saturday by stripping the border that was up at the top of the wall. Then we had people coming over @ 6pm - well about 5:45 the first few showed up, so I figured I would jsut finish the stripping then call it a night. Renee helped me strip for a bit, then we finished, I slapped a small patch of paint on the walls just so I could see what it looked like.

Sunday, I went in and started up @ 9:30am - I finished finally at about 9:30 last night with a lunch break, dinner break and a few "dang it is hot in here" breaks.

I ended up needing a second gallon of paint, Chad bought a different brand paint and the colors didn't even REMOTELY match, so I had to REPAINT everything rather than just touch up! I painted the baseboards and the chair rail, and then we hung the chair rail this morning. I hung the curtains (hand me downs from mom that were already in the room, just given a good washing) back up this morning after breakfast. I'm quite pleased with it. Wish I would have taken a "before" picture.

Previosly nothing was on the wall cept a clock and a coyote ugly calendar, the walls were semi gloss cream color and there was a border at the top that was magnolia blooms.

Anyhow - here is what it is NOW...........the prints on the wall were the catalyst for the room. Chad and I bought those on our last trip to New Orleans for our Anniversary in April. We saw them and had to have them and knew we wanted them in a room, so we decided the dining room was PERFECT! Well ........you be the judge....

This is the view looking in from the doorway towards the back right of the room

This is the view from the doorway looking to the rear left of the room - the room on the other side of the cutout wall is our living room - the couch sits on the other side of the wall

This is the view towards the front of the room (left of doorway) See boo boos high chair LOL the dark 'abyss' is where the kitchen is. the paned swinging door leads to the other foyer to our bedroom and Brennas room

this is the left side wall - shares to the living room. I will be painting the insides of the cutout 'windows' in the same mocha brown as the chair rail and the baseboards, but likely will wait until I paint the living room because I want it to "flow" properly

And this is the view into the dining room from the living room so you can see the cutouts from the other side. We'd remove those three center "posts" except I'm pretty sure that "wall" is load bearing therefore can't remove those posts as our house would fall in LOL!
And yes, I haven't taken my hooks down from the ctockings at christmas, at this point I don't think I will, unless I paint the walls in here before Christmas 2007 LOL!

So leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
Oh and the table cloth, that is pretty much the color of my kitchen.....

Be sure to check out the Live Earth concerts on TV, we've been watching on Bravo and Sundance Channel!

TTFN - we are off to buy paint and molding to do the dining room FINALLY!

When life gives you lemons....

well while they aren't quite ready to be used to make some lemonade yet....these are however OUR very first lemons! Mom planted this lemon tree in the garden a few years ago. I haven't really fussed with the garden since buying the house from mom because as we all know I don't have ANY spare time to do so. However, the other day Chad knocked on my craft room window (where I was taking photos of some great projects) from outside and I opened up and saw these peeking out from behind him.......

Aren't they cute...can't wait for them to turn yellow and then I'll use them in my iced tea!

I got it..I got it...

well I am now officially the PROUD new owner of my very own Canon Digital Rebel XTi camera! I am very excited and cannot WAIT to play around with some shots of the kids with it. I just wish it wasn't so stinking hot outside so I could take them to a park or something and take some shots. It hit just over 100 degrees at the hottest part of the day today (it hit 105 yesterday). Good news is that we are over the hump in the day and the sun is heading down a bit so it's not as hot (the thermometer states it is 97.7 degrees right now and that thermometer is in the shade of our covered backporch).

I hope to start sharing pictures in the next few days from the brand new camera!
